Frequently asked questions

Is this official CFPB data?

All numbers on this site come directly from the CFPB's public Consumer Complaint Database API, pulled in real time at each site rebuild. AllBankComplaints.com is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the CFPB. It is an independent project built on top of public data.

How often is this updated?

This site is rebuilt from live CFPB data on a recurring automated schedule. The leaderboard, category pages, and company pages reflect whichever rebuild is most recent. The narrative-clustering ("Narrative Insights") page updates less often on a separate manual schedule because it needs a heavier local computation step.

Why does "this week" lag behind the actual current date?

CFPB's index takes about two weeks to fully fill in for newly received complaints. Using a shorter window would make every company's complaints look like they are falsely declining. So "this week" means the most recent complete week ending 14 days before the data was pulled. See the How it works page for a full explanation.

Can a company be removed from the rankings?

Rankings are computed directly from the CFPB's public complaint records for each company, not from opinions or requests. A company's position changes only if its actual complaint volume changes. The site does not accept requests to remove or adjust a company's data.

Why isn't my bank or fintech listed?

The site currently tracks a fixed, categorized list of real companies across banks, credit unions, fintechs, credit bureaus, debt collectors, loan servicers, and consumer-report resellers. It does not include every company in the CFPB's full database. Coverage may expand over time; see the full list on the Categories page.

Is this financial advice?

No. This site presents aggregated public complaint data for informational and transparency purposes only. It is not financial, legal, or investment advice, and visitors should do their own research and consult qualified professionals for financial decisions.
